Steve Parker
Traffic Jam

A transit-considering, community-engaging, audience-participating musical performance piece.
MDC Live Arts & renegade musician Steve Parker confront an aggravating topic with humor and creativity—inviting all to make history and make noise in Miami’s first ever car orchestra! Honk your horns, play your windshield wipers, tap your headlights and vent your frustrations in this vehicular flash mob.

A populist rally of sorts, other Traffic Jam “Car-nival” activities include: a Make Out Point and TailGate Trivia by Emerge Miami ; a mixed ability dance performance with live musical score created from amplified and processed components of the wheelchairs from Karen Peterson and Dancers; a gang of skateboarding ukulele players from Inlets Ensemble; choreographed musical bicycles by Kunstwaffen 1916 ; and a large scale, interactive xylophone made from automobile hoods and parts by Manita Brug and Randy Burman.

If we've learned one thing from Steve Parker, it's that all the world's a concert hall. His boldness and fervor inspire us” –The Austin Chronicle
